Peter Paul Rubens - Roman Charity

The term "Rubensiaans" is commonly used in Dutch, to denote full figures women. Peter Paul Rubens was so fond of this female form that his name became descriptive of them.

These two paintings, both by Rubens, depict the Roman Story of Cimon and Pero.
It is the story of Pero, who feeds her condemned and starving father Cimon, with breastmilk, to save him from dying. Impressed by her love for her father, the authorities let Cimon go.
Rubens apparently was quite intrigued with this scenario, and painted several versions. I was only able to find two however.
